Using Photos to Make Cards

Using photos to make cards is probably one of the easiest and nicest ways to make a special card for somebody.

I really enjoy photographing natural elements and both my Mom and Mom-in-law's gardens offer plenty of opportunity to do this. To make a special and very personal collection of cards for each Mom, I used store-bought craft cards and I chose a selection of favourite photographs taken in their gardens. They both loved it. :)

  1. what a great idea!

Do you just stick them onto the front?

I had some (VERY) expensive thank-you cards made with a photo of us on the front. It worked for about two years but now the kids look nothing like that photo. I still like the design and the simple style (it just says "thank you very much" on the inside). So I recently printed a pic of my K, attached to the front with those foam circles, as a thank you from her to a friend who'd given her a big bag of hand-me-down clothes.

I think I'll look through my pile of "scrap" photos and see which I can make into cards. The MIL's birthday is coming up.... and it would make a good gift from the kids.

  2. Hi Marcia!

So nice to hear from you. Yes, you stick it on with a regular glue stick or double-sided tape(my first choice- less messy). So glad I inspired you to create something!

We are in Pretoria and loving it. Do hope we’ll meet up some time in the future.

    Take care,
    Georgia
